Year Four: 2007-2008

Session One: September 17-21, 2007

Purpose:

The purpose of the first session of the Patient Safety Improvement Corps is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct effective root cause analysis of adverse events and close calls with an emphasis on underlying system causes; prepare meaningful reports on their findings; develop and implement sustainable system changes based on analysis findings; measure and evaluate the impact of the safety intervention, and ensure the sustainability of effective interventions by transforming them into standard clinical practice.
